What are the conditions of fasting in islam?
There are three conditions of fasting:
a. The Conditions for the Fasting to be Considered Fardh:
There are three conditions for this:
- To have reached puberty,
- To be strong enough to fast,
- To not be on a journey.
b. The Conditions for the Fasting to be Sahih:
There are two conditions needed for the fasting to be considered sahih:
- To be a Muslim,
- To fast at a time when it is appropriate to fast.
c. The Fardhiyat and Sihhah Conditions of Fasting
There are three conditions needed for the fasting to be fardh and sahih:
- To be of sound mind,
- For the woman not to be menstruating or in the period right after childbirth,
- For the month of Ramadhan to come about.
