According to Abu Saʿid (al-Khudri) (ra), the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “If you see a man who comes to the mosques (masjid) regularly, then bear witness to his faith! This is because Allah, the Exalted, says, ‘The only ones who tend Allah’s places of worship are those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, who keep up the prayer, who pay the prescribed alms, and who fear no one but Allah …’” (Al-Tawba, 9: 18; al-Tirmidhi, al-Iman, 8; (Ibn Maja, al-Masajid, 19)
ʿAbd Allah b. ʿUmar (ra) reported that Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “The ritual prayer performed in congregation is twenty-seven times superior to the ritual prayer performed by a person alone.” (al-Bukhari, al-Adhan, 30; Muslim, al-Masajid, 249)
According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Prophet (saw) said, “When a man goes out of his house to go to the mosque then with one step a merit is recorded for him and with the other a sin of his is erased.”
