Is it not proper to talk while performing minor ablution or ghusl?

Talking while performing minor ablution or ghusl does not give any harm to the validity of them. However, it is not proper to speak unless it is needed. A person who starts to perform ablution or ghusl should focus on his worship and distance themselves from worldly affairs, feelings, and thoughts as much as possible (Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-falah, I, p. 44).
