According to Ibn ʿUmar (ra), Jibril asked the Prophet (saw), “O Messenger of Allah! What is imān (faith)?” Allah’s Messenger replied, “That you believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His messengers, the Hereafter, and fate with its good and evil…” (Ibn Hanbal, I, 28; B50, al-Bukhari, al-Iman, 37)
According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “He who believes in Allah and in the Last Day should honor his guest; he who believes in Allah and in the Last Day should not harm his neighbor; he who believes in Allah and in the Last Day should speak good or keep silent.” (Abu Da’ud, al-Adab, 122, 123)
