Ziyad (ra) said, “I heard al-Mughira say that the Prophet (saw) used to stand (in prayer) or pray until both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked (why he did this) and he said, ‘Should I not be a thankful servant.’”

According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Whoever is not grateful to the people is not grateful to Allah.” al-Tirmidhi, al-Birr, 35)
According to Jabir b. ʿAbd Allah (ra), the Prophet (saw) said, “If someone is given something, he mentions it and expresses his thanks for it. If he conceals it (without mentioning it to anyone), he is ungrateful for it.”
