According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Prophet (saw) said, “He will not enter Paradise whose neighbor is not secure from his wrongful conduct.” (Muslim, al-Iman, 73)
According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Prophet (saw) said, “Whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak about what is good or keep quiet, and whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (or insult) his neighbor; and whosoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should entertain his guest generously.” (al-Bukhari, al-Riqaq, 23)
ʿAmr ibn Saʿd ibn Muʿadh related on the authority of his grandmother (ra) that Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “O trusting women, none of you must consider even a roasted sheep’s trotter too small to give to her neighbor.” (Muwatta’, Sıfat al-Nabi, 10)
Abu Dharr (ra) reported Allah’s Messenger (saw) as saying, “Abu Dharr, when you prepare the broth, add water to it and give it (as a present) to your neighbor.” (Muslim, al-Birr, 143)
According to Abu Hurayra (ra), the Prophet (saw) said, “After the death of a Muslim, if three of his neighbors give testimonials that he was a good man, then Allah Almighty will say, ‘I accept the testimonials of my servants, and I forgive what I know about him as well.’” (Ibn Hanbal, II, 409)
As reported by ʿAbd Allah (b. Masʿud) (ra), a man went to the Prophet (saw) and asked, “How can I know when I have done well and when I have done something bad?” The Prophet (saw) replied, “If you hear your neighbors saying that you have done well, then you have done well, and if you hear them saying that you have done something bad, then you have done something bad.” (Ibn Maja, al-Zuhd, 25; HM3808, Ibn Hanbal, I, 402)
